Will Lee

It would probably be easier for us to list the names of artists Will Lee hasn't worked with yet. However, here are some “big names” for you: Stevie Wonder, Steely Dan, Billy Joel, Carly Simon, Bette Midler, James Brown, James Taylor, George Benson or ex-Beatle Ringo Starr... this list could go on for a long time! Lee is known for his versatility, his playing skills and his ability to fit seamlessly into different styles of music. He is a respected member of the musical community and has made a significant impact on the bass world. Will Lee was born on September 8, 1952 in San Antonio, Texas. He began his professional career in the 1970s, working with various bands and as a session musician in New York City. His talent and extraordinary versatility quickly made him a sought-after bassist for recordings and live gigs.

One of Will Lee's most famous gigs was his long-time membership in the "CBS Orchestra," the house band on "The Late Show with David Letterman." He appeared in this role regularly on American TV for more than two decades, where he impressed audiences not only with his bass playing but also with his stage presence. But in addition to his musical career, Will Lee is also involved in music education. He has led workshops and masterclasses to pass on his knowledge and experience to aspiring musicians.

Will Lee is more associated with Sadowsky than almost any other artist. His collaboration with Roger Sadowsky led to the Will Lee Signature Model: a 22-fret J-Type bass that features a special mid-boost switch (500 or 800 Hz with either a narrow or wide Q-factor), making this exceptional instrument even more versatile. Will, we love you! Without you, Sadowsky wouldn't be the same company today!
